TechFaith, Arasor Form Mobile Phone JV to Tap Emerging Markets

According to an AFX News report, Chinese mobile phone solution provider TechFaith and US Arasor, a provider of telecommunications and consumer optoelectronic solutions, recently announced that they will form a mobile phone joint venture. Pursuant to the agreement, TechFaith will supply manpower, facilities, testing equipment, and intellectual property to the new company, backed by Arasor's financial support. Through this venture, the two companies will jointly develop mobile phones customized for the emerging markets of India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Financial details of this tie-up were not revealed.
